Earlier last month I wrote an article about Alabama Offensive Lineman, Barrett Jones. Unfortunately Jones has been out with a foot injury since the SEC Championship, but he says he'll be ready to play against Notre Dame in the National Championship. With the lights shining brightest on college football's biggest stage, scouts will be able to see how Jones holds up against a top-tier team one last time before he graduates from the University of Alabama.
Jones will be playing against Notre Dame nose guard, Louis Nix III, who Jones believes is the biggest challenge he will face up to date. Nix, the 6'3", 326 lb. monster, is considered to be one of the top defensive tackle prospect of next year's draft class.
From ESPN.com: "He's pretty big," Jones said. "He's got great size to him [6-foot-3, 326 pounds], but he's got really good foot quickness to him for a guy that big. He does a really good job with his hands. He's probably the best nose guard I've played all season."
As you can see from the quote above, Jones holds Nix very highly and thinks he will be a tough match-up. It will be interesting to see how Barrett Jones responds to this challenge seeing as how he performs will more than likely effect his draft-stock in a big way.
Tune into ESPN on January 7th at 8:00 p.m. to watch Barrett Jones and the Alabama Crimson Tide face-off against Notre Dame and it's star-studded team.
