Baltimore is not only home to the Baltimore Ravens but also to the winningest individual in Olympic history. Swimmer Michael Phelps won 22 medals, including 18 gold, in three Olympic Games. He visited the Ravens training camp the other day and met with players and said a few words to the group.
A story on BaltimoreRavens.com as well as a related one on USAToday.com detailed the visit. The one on the Ravens site has a great photo of Phelps and Ray Lewis sitting side-by-side in the same position, smiling. In his message to the team, Phelps actually gives credit to Lewis for helping him re-kindle his competitive edge for the London Olympics after such a record-setting performance at the 2008 Beijing Games.
The USA Today article tries to draw comparisons between Phelps last four years and the Baltimore Ravens past four season. They look at what Phelps has been doing during the same period the Ravens were fighting for the playoffs year-after-year. The best one?
Michael Phelps one had a pretty awful mustache. So did Joe Flacco.
