Baltimore Ravens strong safety Bernard Pollard has the starting position next to Ed Reed locked up for obvious reasons, but that alone will not keep him satisfied in Training Camp. With the purpose of camp being to get players in shape as well as seeing what other players can do, the team wants to keep their reps at a level so as not to wear the veterans out before they start hitting in earnest later this month.

However, when coaches subbed in for Pollard in yesterday's practice, Bernard was not too happy to be taken out of 11-on-11 drills. "Let me work!," he yelled. "I'm out here trying to burn calories!" He reluctantly came out, ran the width of the field for more work, saying to no one in particular, "I'm gonna do more!"

Ray Lewis watched the event unfold from next to the water jug, then waited and finally called out to Pollard, "Hey BP, you need your medicine," inviting Pollard to have a drink of water with him." For a veteran not trying to earn a roster spot, it's refreshing to see a guy who wants to stay on the field and practice in the hot weather despite knowing full well that he could instead sit a few more plays out and not affect his future status.
