Up to recently, while it appeared that Baltimore Ravens undrafted rookie placekicker Justin Tucker has had a slightly better camp than veteran Billy Cundiff, the competition could still be considered virtually dead even. However, that might have changed at yesterday's training camp practice, as Cundiff missed consecutive attempts at relatively short distances.
It was sadly familiar to see him miss wide left from only 28-yards, but then was almost jaw-dropping to see his very next kick go wide right from 38 yards. These distances were noted from the related story on BaltimoreRavens.com, although my view made it seem like both kicks were from around five yards closer than the team's website noted. However, their information is much more verifiable than mine, so the difference is negligible.
Tucker made those same kicks and then some, although both players missed from around 50 yards later in practice before Tucker ended the session witha plus-50 yarder.
