Today should be consider a holiday in the minds of all fans of the Baltimore Ravens. Training Camp has officially opened for the upcoming 2012 NFL season. Quarterbacks, rookies and injured veterans will hit the field for a 4pm practice at the recently-named Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Maryland.
This same group of players will practice again on Wednesday, as the remaining veterans will report to camp throughout the day. The first full-team practice will be on Thursday, July 26 at 2pm. The Ravens open their pre-season schedule in a little over two weeks, on August 9th at the Atlanta Falcons.
Although the Ravens are currently negotiating with the agent of QB Joe Flacco, the QB will be in camp and even though free safety Ed Reed wants a new deal, expect him to be there when the rest of the veterans report. Having the full team in camp from day one with no drama is a huge benefit, as opposed to last year wen the NFL Lockout took away most of the off-season.
