Ravens Hope to Re-sign Joe Flacco Before Training Camp

With Ray Rice recently inking a new 5-year deal, the Ravens are set to make re-signing Joe Flacco their #1 priority (well besides winning a Super Bowl anyways). In a recent report by ESPN, senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen reported that the Baltimore Ravens are "optimistic" that they can get a long-term deal done with Joe Flacco before the start of training camp next week on July 25th.

But Joe Flacco is not going to make a big deal out of getting a new contract, and has his eyes set on the upcoming season.

From Carroll County Times: "Joe is very, very excited for the season," Joe Linta (Joe Flacco's agent) told the Carroll County Times in a telephone interview. "He's really adamant about getting the Ravens to the next step. The contract at this point is secondary to that goal. Joe has the attitude that he'll earn it."

"We've had great conversations, and we're going to keep talking. Everything is good. We're going to keep talking, keep the lines of communication open."
