Terrell Suggs #11 On NFL Top 100 Players Of 2012

Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker, Terrell Suggs, was given the #11 ranking on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2012. Suggs came in at #40 on the 2011 list (see video above). The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year will miss part, most or all of the 2012 season depending on whose opinion you want to believe, due to a torn Achilles Tendon and subsequent surgery.

Suggs is perhaps the most disruptive defensive player in the league, as evidenced by not only his ability to harass the quarterback, but to chase down running backs who dare to try to get around his edge of the field. At the same time, Suggs may not even be the best player on the Ravens defense, as DT Haloti Ngata's name has yet to be announced on this list and seems destined to be one of the remaining top ten names to be revealed next week.

Suggs was the third of three Ravens defensive players names to be released yesterday along with Ray Lewis (#20) and Ed Reed (#16). However, NFL Network's Dave Dameshek criticized all three of the player's rankings, saying both Lewis and Reed got this ranking based on their career portfolios, not on their 2011 play and Suggs will surely drop significantly after missing so much of this coming season.
