Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is arguably one of the best at his position in the NFL. While Ngata would be a welcome addition on any team in the league, he would be the first to admit he didn't finish the 2011-12 season the way he started it and hopes to change things this season.
A story by Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reveals that Ngata played the latter portion of the season with a deep thigh bruise which may have hampered his productivity. While his season stats were Pro Bowl numbers, they do not show the inconsistency that plagued him compared to the first few games.
What Ravens fan does not remember the play in the first game f the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he slammed into RB Rashard Mendenhall, knocking him backwards, dislodging the ball and then falling on it for a fumble recovery? Haloti is healthy now and looking forward to this season, when he can focus on returning to the dominating presence and perhaps becoming the next player on this defense to win NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.
