When Sports Illustrated put together a list of twelve rookies expected to make an impact in 2012, they must not have been aware of the Achilles Tendon injury to Terrell Suggs and the increased urgency of getting rookie Courtney Upshaw ready to start.

SI picked one player at each position that they see being an impact rookie for their new team and instead of selecting the Ravens rookie, the dopes choose to feature some guy named Melvin Ingram from the San Diego Chargers. The story says that San Diego got the best pass rusher in the draft and has the athleticism to handle coverage responsibilities as an 3-4 outside linebacker.

Something tells me the Ravens, their fans and even one Courtney Upshaw might end up having something to say in response to Sports Illustrated's omission, but then again, Ravens fans always seem to love being the underdogs and not talked about, then proving everybody who ignored us wrong.
