The Baltimore Ravens have officially signed kicker, Justin Tucker, after an impressive try-out a couple of weeks ago. Justin, who went 40 for 48 in in his college career, will be competition for Billy Cundiff. During his try-out, Justin hit four out of four attempts from 50 yards away, ending his try-out with a 55-yarder. According to John Harbaugh, Justin is both powerful and accurate:
"He gets really good lift on the ball, very accurate," Head Coach John Harbaugh said after the camp. "He had a very good camp."
Cundiff's abilities have been called into question after missing a possible game-tying field-goal with seconds left in the AFC Championship game. The signing of Justin Tucker means that Billy is going to have to earn his roster spot, and prove his worth this off-season. As Ravens fans, we are used to being underdogs, as is Justin Tucker. But Mt.Tucker seems excited for the opportunity to earn a roster spot.
"I look forward to it, coming in and competing against a guy that's had success in the league," Tucker said. "It'll be a challenge, but it will be fun."
