Solid Players Available For NFL Draft's Second Round

After a record-breaking 19 trades in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the second and third rounds later today offer a bunch of solid players still available. The St. Louis Rams start it off at 7pm, followed by the Indianapolis Colts and then your Baltimore Ravens.

SB Nation's draft blog, Mocking The Draft has a story up on the best available players remaining. Since it appears likely that the Colts will go for one of new QB Andrew Luck's offensive teammates with the second pick of the 2nd round in OT Jonathan Martin or TE Coby Fleener, only the Rams stand in the way of the Ravens taking one of three probable targets.

They include Georgia guard Cordy Glenn, Wisconsin center Peter Konz and Alabama OLB Courtney Upshaw. All would have been solid picks at the 29th slot of the first round and now Baltimore not only still has a chance to get one of them, but acquire an early fourth round pick as well. Upshaw was rated Mocking The Draft's 11th best overall prospect and Konz was their 16th highest rated player, which figures as the Ravens felt they could get top-20 talent in the 29th spot and now appear set to do so at the 35th spot.

Genius!
