Keeping Up With The Jones'

Fans of the Baltimore Ravens are familiar with their defensive tackle, Arthur Jones, who was a fifth round draft pick in 2010 out of Syracuse University. Those who follow the Mixed Marshal Arts, know that Art is the older brother of Jon 'Bones' Jones, the UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion. The Ravens defensive tackle credit training with his younger brother as a prime reason why he is in the shape that he is and is able to fight off blockers in the trenches.

However, most people do not realize that there is another Jones brother who is headed into the 2012 NFL Draft in April. Chandler Jones also attended Syracuse and plays defensive end. Jones is rated by NFL Draft Scout as the 7th best DE in this draft class and is projected to be a 2nd round selection, but could go as high as the late-first round. They liken the 6'5", 265 pound Jones to current New York Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul, who was relatively unknown coming out of South Florida but has blossomed into a destructive pass-rushing force.

His senior year, Chandler was named All-Big East First Team, and despite only playing in only seven games due to injury, finished the 2011 season with 34 tackles, including five TFL's, 4.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles. Chandler Jones will be able to display his current talents and future potential to coaches, scouts and the viewing public at the NFL Scouting Combine beginning next week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Think it would be a Jones family dream to have two brothers on the Baltimore Ravens defensive line?
