Can Ravens' Kruger Do It Again?

Baltimore Ravens' linebacker Paul Kruger has had back-to-back monster games. Can he make it three in a row in San Diego?

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

The return of outside linebacker Terrell Suggs was supposed to help bolster the Ravens woeful pass rush and it has, but not exactly how everyone expected it would. Suggs' return has opened up more one-on-one coverage schemes for other pass rushers like Paul Kruger and hopefully Pernell McPhee, when he returns.

Kruger has been the Ravens most dominant defender over the past two games and hopes to continue that trend this week in the unfriendly confines of the San Diego Chargers. If defensive end Pernell McPhee is also available it could help Kruger as well.

Last weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers we saw the resurgence of the game breaking ability of defensive lineman Haloti Ngata again. It is amazing how when the best players are playing at their best, the other players that have been getting ragged on for their underwhelming performance look better too. Players like Terrence Cody and Ma'ake Kemoeatu who were labeled as flops thus far looked mush stouter in the run defense with a healthy Suggs and Ngata on the line.

Kruger, by far, has held the spotlight the most since the return of Suggs and hopefully this trend will continue as the Ravens get ready to face off against a pass happy Chargers team. Especially with the secondary still a bit banged up.
