Ravens Would Have Been Super Bowl Favorites

Had the Baltimore Ravens beaten the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game this past Sunday, they would have been a slight favorite against their opponent from the winner of the NFC Championship Game. Not exactly a definite fact, but looking at the odds posted at the wagering site, Bovada, from last Friday, the Ravens would have been either even or favored over both the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.

Although the Ravens opened as a nine-point underdog to the Patriots, they ended up being around a 7.5 point dog and since the 49ers were around a field goal favorite over the Giants, that meant the Ravens were the longshot to win the Super Bowl prior to the two conference championship games.

However, the oddsmakers must have liked both AFC teams better than either NFC teams, hence the Ravens position as the favorite had they made the Big Game. Baltimore would have been a "pick-em" selection against New York and a 1.5 point favorite over San Francisco.
