Ravens Cut Down To 53 Players, But Roster Remains Fluid

The Baltimore Ravens cut their roster down to 53 players today, but their roster will remain "fluid" as players still may be cut and signed throughout the day and into the evening. The team will then try to sign or re-sign some of their cuts to their eight-man Practice Squad. While a couple of spots appear to still be in question, most of the cuts didn't come as too much of a surprise. This is a veteran team even with a bunch of younger players and the roster had very few spots that were ultimately up for grabs. All seven of the team's 2011 NFL Draft picks made the squad as did a few of the undrafted rookies as well.

Here is a list of what I have as the team's current 53-man roster, as the Ravens get an exemption for WR David Reed, who was suspended for the first game for violating the NFL's illegal substance policy:

QB: Joe Flacco, Tyrod Taylor

RB/FB: Ray Rice, Ricky Williams, Anthony Allen, Vonta Leach

O-Line: Matt Birk, Ben Grubbs, Marshal Yanda, Michael Oher, Bryant McKinnie, Mark LeVoir, Bryan Mattison, Jah Reid

TE: Ed Dickson, Dennis Pitta, Kris Wilson

WR: Anquan Boldin, Lee Evans, Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss, David Reed, LaQuan Williams

D-Line: Haloti Ngata, Terrence Cody, Cory Redding, Arthur Jones, Pernell McPhee, Brandon McKinney, Paul Kruger, Michael McAdoo

LB: Ray Lewis, Jarret Johnson, Terrell Suggs, Jameel McClain, Dannell Ellerbe, Jason Phillips, Albert McClellan, Brendon Ayanbadejo, Sergio Kindle

CB: Jimmy Smith, Domonique Foxworth, Lardarius Webb, Chris Carr, Chykie Brown, Cary Williams

S: Ed Reed, Tom Zbikowski, Haruki Nakamura, Bernard Pollard

ST: Billy Cundiff, Sam Koch, Morgan Cox
