The best rivalry in the NFL right now is the Baltimore Ravens versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to the Ravens week one 35-7 beatdown of the Steelers, their games were usually decided by less than a touchdown since the 2008 season. Because of the fierce nature of their showdowns, they are now being featured in the series premier of the show, NFL Single Coverage, which begins this Wednesday (September 21st) at 8pm on Discovery Communication's Velocity Network.
Immediately afterwards, the next show on the Velocity Channel, NFL Greatest Rivalries, will take a "wide-angled view of the two franchises just featured on the preceding episode of NFL Single Coverage."
In the series, players will be "miked-up" and different camera angles than what you saw in the actual games will be used to "dissect" the action, focusing on not only the plays, but the players and coaches. Every Baltimore Ravens fans knows what a treat it is to hear LB Ray Lewis during games when he is "miked-up," as he is one of, if not the best and certainly most enjoyable in-game player to listen to.

NFL COMES TO DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS’
VELOCITY NETWORK
WITH TWO WORLD PREMIERE SERIES THIS FALL
NFL Films Presents the World Premiere Series, NFL SINGLE COVERAGE and GREATEST NFL RIVALRIES,
debuting Wednesday, September 21, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on HD Theater
HD Theater Becomes Velocity Network on October 4
(Silver Spring, Md.)—The world’s most-popular sports brand comes to Discovery Communications’ Velocity network when NFL Films debuts two world-premiere series on the network. Beginning Wednesday, September 21 at 8:00 PM (ET/PT), NFL Films, Velocity and Intersport present the all-new franchises, NFL SINGLE COVERAGE and GREATEST NFL RIVALRIES – each capturing the intensity, passion and competition of the NFL.
NFL SINGLE COVERAGE examines the key individual match-ups within a single game unlike any other show on television. Each 30-minute episode uses personal interviews, in-game player microphones and special camera angles to dissect the match-ups between opposing players and coaches. Each play is an individual chess match between corners and receivers; running backs and linebackers; quarterbacks and pass rushers – and the team that wins these isolated battles leaves the gridiron victorious. NFL SINGLE COVERAGE premieres Wednesday, September 21, at 8:00 PM (ET). The series premiere features the 2011 season-opener between divisional foes Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens and showcases the individual and group match-ups which provide the keys to victory in one of football’s best rivalries.
Immediately following, GREATEST NFL RIVALRIES takes a wide-angle view of the two franchises just featured on the preceding episode of NFL SINGLE COVERAGE. Featuring NFL Films’ unrivaled content library and production values, the series will chronicle the league’s best rivalry games by taking a look back at the past contests, plays and personalities that defined the League’s legendary grudge-matches. GREATEST NFL RIVALRIES premieres Wednesday, September 21, at 8:30 PM (ET).
"NFL Films is excited to partner with Velocity to bring fans closer to many of the league’s best players, teams and matchups," said NFL Films President Steve Sabol.
HD Theater will become Velocity, an upscale male lifestyle network, on Tuesday, October 4, featuring the best of the travel, leisure, automotive, adventure and sports genres. Velocity will occupy the channel location currently occupied by the HD Theater cable network. The September 21 and 28 airings of NFL SINGLE COVERAGE and GREATEST NFL RIVALRIES will air on HD Theater, with the following six weeks’ premieres airing at the same time and channel location, but under the Velocity brand.
