Josh Wilson Is Now An Ex-Raven

Cornerback Josh Wilson will not be returning to the Baltimore Ravens as he has agreed to join the Washington Redskins, reportedly to sign a 3 year, $13.5 million deal, according to a story on SB Nation. Wilson, along with Chris Carr, was one of the two free agent former Ravens cornerbacks that the team was thinking about bringing back.

This move by the Redskins should push the Ravens towards re-signing Carr, as Domonique Foxworth and Lardarius Webb are now the only two returning veteran corners, along with rookies Jimmy Smith and Chykie Brown. Cornerback has been considered a weak link on the team since last year and was exacerbated by the lack of a pass rush in 2010.

The Ravens should now be prepared to go out into free agency and seek a veteran corner for added depth in their secondary. While the possibility of signing former Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha appear slim, there will be other free agent corners that the team will now have to look at.
