Ravens & Baltimore Community Foundation Host Scholarship Luncheon

Pro Bowl K Matt Stover will speak at the Baltimore Community Foundation Scholarship Luncheon at M&T Bank Stadium this Friday, June 3. The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) will announce the winners of this year’s scholarship awards, and two current BCF scholarship recipients will speak about the importance of the scholarships to their lives. This year’s BCF scholarship awards total $169,500, thanks to a new scholarship program established by a major financial institution and several scholarships funded by private donors.

Ravens president Dick Cass will join Stover, who will be inducted later this year into the Ravens Ring of Honor, presented by Smyth Jewelers, in speaking about the Ravens’ commitment to education and scholarships.

The second class of Ravens Scholars was announced in May. Each of the five recipients will receive a $5,000 renewable scholarship (up to $20,000 per scholar), funded by the Ravens All Community Team Foundation.

The charitable funds of several Ravens players, including TE Todd Heap and S Ed Reed, are numbered among the 600-plus funds of the Baltimore Community Foundation. BCF invites donors to Invest in Baltimore, helping individuals, families and organizations to carry out their charitable plans, with the common goal of improving the quality of life in the greater Baltimore region, today and for generations to come. More information about BCF, its scholarships and other activities can be found at www.bcf.org.
