Wide receiver Mark Clayton had 234 receptions and 12 TD catches in his five year Baltimore Ravens career. However, for a first round draft pick, averaging just over 40 catches and two TDs per season is definitely not acceptable numbers for the 22nd overall selection in the 2005 NFL Draft. While Clayton made some nice catches as a Raven, he never became that #1 receiver the team hoped he would be and will probably be remembered more for that fourth down drop of a Joe Flacco pass in the loss to the New England Patriots in the 2009 regular season.
Clayton seemed to have found a new home with the St. Louis Rams and was having a nice season for them in 2010 when he was injured in the 5th game and missed the remainder of the season. Thus, Clayton "earns" the #8 slot in the Baltimore Ravens Top Ten Draft Busts in team history.
