It would be easy to just say the very first regular season game on the 2011 schedule is going to be the best game of the season. The Pittsburgh Steelers come to Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, September 11th in the season opener for both teams. That one game should set the tone for the entire season, as Pittsburgh has won two straight over the Ravens, including the divisional playoff round last season after spotting the Ravens a 21-0 lead.
However the Ravens schedule is chock full of tough games and interesting match-ups, including a prime time Thanksgiving night game hosting the San Francisco 49ers and John Harbaugh's brother Jim. This is the first time in team history as well as Baltimore history that this city has hosted a Turkey Day game. There is also the New York Jets game here that puts Rex Ryan and his big mouth against his former employer.
Don't forget the week 14 game when those hated Indianapolis Colts come to Baltimore, as it has been years since the Ravens have beaten the Colts. The Ravens go to San Diego the following week in a tough game on the road against one of the top offenses in the league. The Steelers road game in week 9 will say a lot about the Ravens ability to win on the road against the top teams in the league.
The biggest games are obviously going to be between the Steelers (twice), Jets and Colts, with the 49ers game an exciting night, but not considered one of the tougher on the schedule. Which game is #1 on your schedule?
