With only five more names left on the list of the Top Ten Biggest Draft Busts in Baltimore Ravens history, the next coupe of names will go back a ways in the team's relatively short NFL history. The initial draft in Ravens history yielded two future Pro Football Hall of Fame players in OT Jonathan Ogden and LB Ray Lewis. However, it also gave the team CB DeRon Jenkins, the third player drafted in Baltimore Ravens history.
While unfair to even begin to compare Jenkins to the two biggest names in team history, Jenkins was a flat out bust compared to anyone the team has drafted. The 25th pick of the second round usually ends up being a significant contributor, which is why some of the names on this list are considered busts despite not having the chances that Jenkins had, but still were drafted in the second round.
Jenkins played four years with the Ravens, finishing with a grand total of two interceptions. He played two more seasons with two other teams and then finished out his football career in the Arena Football League. The team lost confidence in his ability to contribute towards their early growth and he was long gone after the 1999 season, just in time for the Ravens to go on to win Super Bowl 35 the next season, with starting cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Duane Starks both a major upgrade over the ineffective Jenkins.
