Ravens Work Out Combine's Fastest Player

The Baltimore Ravens held a private workout today for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga's Buster Skrine. Skrine, a cornerback, ran an unofficial 4.29 40-yard dash in last month's NFL Combine, the fastest of this year and one of the faster ever run since the Combine began electronic timing a decade ago. However, the knock on Skrine is that he is only 5'9" and 186 pounds, rather small for the pro game where some of the guys he will be responsible for covering are upwards of seven inches and forty pounds bigger than he is.

He is projected to be a later round pick and with that sort of straight line speed, you just know his draft stock shot up with that dash and some team will definitely go after him as the draft gets into the middle rounds. At least four other teams have been reported to be working him out as well, including all three other AFC North teams.

Check out the story on Skrine by Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
