Terps' Torrey Smith Runs 4.43 40-Yard Dash

The Universty of Maryland's Torrey Smith ran a pretty fast 4.43 seconds forty-yard dash at the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Indiana today. Smith, a WR projected to go as high as in the first round in April's NFL Draft, looked real fluid and sharp in his technique getting off the line and accelerating down the field. For a relatively bigger wide receiver, the former Terrapin put up a time that will only confirm, if not help his draft status.

However, the two speed burners so far were Abilene Christian's Edmond Gates and Fort Valley State's Ricardo Lockette, who both ran official 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
