Some Baltimore Ravens fans were looking at the possibility of the team going after New York Jets ILB David Harris once he hit free agency this spring. He is on the younger side of age 30 and could have been a possible future replacement for the great Ray Lewis. However, the New York Jets squashed any hope of that when they place the Franchise Tag on Harris yesterday, according to a story in the National Football Post. Harris will now be paid the average of the top five linebackers in the NFL.
While most Ravens know more about another Jets linebacker, Bart Scott, it was Harris who actually was considered the best on that team and would have been a very attractive option had he become a free agent.
