SB Nation, which already boasts close to 250 individual sports blogs, has just launched a group over 20 regional sites. The closest one to us in the DC Hub, which includes the four major sports teams (Redskins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards) in addition to the Georgetown Hoyas, Maryland Terps and DC United. However, the Baltimore teams (Ravens, Orioles) were not included in the DC Regional Hub.
Not wanting to speak for the Orioles site on SB Nation (Camden Chat), I made it perfectly clear when these hubs were being discussed, that while I would gladly be part of a regional hub titled "Mid-Atlantic" or "Chesapeake Region," the thought of being grouped into a site called "DC Region" just didn't sit well with this Baltimore fan.
Baltimore has always had a so-called "inferiority complex" in relation to the District and this would only exacerbate it more than it needed. Therefore, I took the preemptive move to request to not be part of this region. However, you just may feel differently than me and I'd like to know your opinion.
The site is well doneand will only help drive more traffic to the individual blogs included. At the same time, if Baltimore was ever to be included, do not expect it to receive equal attention to the pure DC blogs, as it is indeed a DC Hub first and foremost. I have not heard from Camden Chat and unless Baltimore Beatdown is the only local site not part of this hub, I do not expect to be a part anytime in the near future.

In addition, SB Nation's expansion to this was recently featured in an article by the New York Times.
So congrats to SB Nation and the DC Regional Hub, but at the same time, thanks but no thanks.
