The Carolina Panthers have just announced that recently signed Brian St. Pierre will start at QB this Sunday when they host the Baltimore Ravens. St. Pierre is an eight year veteran who has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals and even the Baltimore Ravens. However, he has only thrown five passes in his NFL career, completing two for twelve yards, one TD and one interception. He has never started a game yet still gets the nod over rookie Tony Pike (Cincinnati) despite Pike playing against the New Orleans Saints in a week nine 34-3 blowout loss in which he went 6-12 for 47 yards and a 60.1 QB Rating.
St. Pierre was signed to the Panthers Practice Squad and just moved onto their active roster this week. Facing an angry Ravens team off a 26-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and with a "mini-Bye" week of rest does not seem to bode well for either Brian or the Panthers. However, stranger things have happened and the Ravens would be well worth making sure they do not overlook a Carolina team that is desperate with nothing to lose by throwing the playbook at the Baltimore defense.
