Baltimore Beatdown's Fantasy Football League is more than halfway through the season and the standings are getting crowded at the top. While this writer's team is in first place, he is not alone and on the verge of losing this week and the division lead at the same time. Once this week is in the books, it looks like six teams will be a .500 or better as we head down the stretch to the playoffs.
The Beatdowners (my team) were rocked when Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo went down to injury but they thought they pulled a fast one by grabbing fast-rising Buffalo Bills QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who shredded the Baltimore Ravens secondary in the Ravens 37-34 OT victory a few weeks ago. However, Fitzpatrick has been mediocre at best since that game and we've had to rely on the running backs and specifically my wide receiver corps of the Ravens Anquan Boldin, Detroit's Calvin Johnson, Jacksonville's Mike Sims-Walker and Todd Heap at tight end. Unfortunately, the Sweater Puppies put a hurting on my Beatdowners this week behind none other than Baltimore's own Joe Flacco, who earned him a whopping 25 points. Never bet against 'Joe Cool!'
