Around the NFL: 'Open Thread'

Most of the Baltimore Ravens are probably as far away from football as they can get today, as they are on their well-deserved Bye week. However, something tells me QB Joe Flacco is probably deep in his playbook and some of the guys are at The Castle working out as they prepare for the Miami Dolphins coming to town next Sunday, before the Ravens go on the road to open the NFL Network's string of Thursday Night Football at the Atlanta Falcons. That should be a good one, with two first round draft picks at QB (Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco) going up against each other.

In the meantime, there are a bunch of good games going on today, such as the Minnesota Vikings playing at the New England Patriots as Randy Moss returns to go against his former team, much less the continuing Brett Favre soap opera. In AFC North games today, the Cincinnati Bengals host the Miami Dolphins and both teams will need to win this game if they want to stay in their own respective division's race.

In what could be the best game of the weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to New Orleans to play the Saints. New Orleans wants to prove last week's embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Browns at home was a fluke and get back on track, while the Steelers want to show that Ben Roethlisberger is ready to lead his team back to the Super Bowl and deserve to be considered the favorite to do so.

So, stick with Baltimore Beatdown all day long to post your thoughts on all the games today, rooting of course for the Dolphins this afternoon and the Saints tonight in prime time. Go Miami! Geaux New Orleans!

Happy Halloween!!!
