Wow, this is getting scary, much less embarrassing. The Ravens are now part of the 2009 history, as along with the Browns, now have the only non-scoring first half of the 2009 season. Great, just great. In fact, I just looked at the team's stats and see that we have not scored an offensive touchdown in the first half of a game since the New England Patriots game! That was week four when we had just finished off the Cleveland Browns to start the season 3-0 and looking like one of the top teams in the NFL. Since then, we have lost four of our last five games and the only first half TD we scored was on Ed Reed's interception return in the first of two losses to the Cincinnati Bengals. Since then, nothing but offensive troubles.
Wow, what a difference a few weeks makes, as this is week 10 and the Ravens 9th game. The Ravens look tentative, slow and out of sync. They used all three of their timeouts early in the first quarter. Lucky we didn't have a need to challenge a play. The longer Cleveland sticks around and keeps the crowd in the game, the riskier this gets for the Ravens. Considering the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts played one of the best games I've ever seen last night on prime time TV, this one is one of the worst. Combine that with the fact the Colts come to Baltimore next week, this game is looking as ugly now as that one could be next week.
Let's see what happens in the final 30 minutes. Ouch.
