Ravens trade down!

The Ravens have traded their #8 pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars who selected Derrick Harvey, DE frrom Florida, who is a reach according to Draft Guru Mel Kiper. In return, they get the Jags #26 pick of the first round, as well as both 3rd round picks (71 and 89 overall) and the Jags fourth rounder. A great deal for us, and we replace our lost third rounder with two more picks in that round!

By doing so, the Ravens are targeting Delaware QB Joe Flacco with this pick, which is a great move for the Ravens. Flacco is built in the mold of the other AFC North QB's, big and strong like Pittsburgh's Rothlisberger and Cleveland's Anderson, as well as Cincinnati's Carson Palmer.

The Ravens can then either sit and wait or trade back up again by packaging some of these picks to get a decent cornerback, such as VA Tech's Brandon Flowers. At least we can sit back and enjoy the rest of the first round.

Was the trade of the 8th pick to Jacksonville for their 26th overall, plus two thirds AND a 4th a good deal?
