A little over a year ago, Baltimore Beatdown wrote a review of this book about four young men, including two NFL players, who went boating and three of the guys drowned after the boat overturned and they were lost at sea. Now the father of one of the NFL players is speaking out, disputing the facts of the book.
Defensive Tackle Cory Redding was acquired by the Baltimore Ravens in the off season through free agency. Prior to coming to Baltimore from the Seattle Seahawks, Redding was with the Detroit Lions and a teammate of the late Corey Smith, who drowned in the Gulf of Nexico last spring, while on an ill-fated fishing trip with three friends, including another NFL player, Marquis Cooper (Oakland Raiders).
"Not Without Hope" by Nick Schuyler, recounts the horrific experience that started out as four friends, all former football players, went on an innocent fishing trip.
