Ravens Draft Tracker: Kelechi Osemele
Kelechi Osemele Tackle #72, Iowa. 6'5" 337lbs
The Ravens need help on the offensive line. Drafting a tackle to replace Bryant McKinnie would make sense if they saw someone they liked late in the first round. Nfl.com has the Ravens selecting Osemele in the first round in their latest mock draft.
nfl.com: With center Matt Birk and guard Ben Grubbs both free agents, the Ravens will be looking to bolster the interior of their offensive line. Osemele's massive 6-5, 350-pound frame, pure strength and tenacity should open holes for Baltimore's star running back Ray Rice.
Here is what NFL.com has to say about Osemele.
Osemele is a player who will need strong coaching and guidance once entering the NFL, but if he finds his way and becomes a consistent player, he stands to be a dominant lineman based off his production and film at Iowa State. He has great athletic ability and gets off the line very quickly. He understands, for the most part, blocking with angles and within a scheme, and has the natural upper strength to keep on his blocks once he gets to them. When using technique, Osemele is one of the more powerful and dominant blockers in the country. Very rarely do defenders release themselves from his blocks, and if he can learn to get to the block sooner at the NFL level, he can be a stalwart for years to come. His potential as a go-to run blocker for the next decade could find him selected as early as the first round.
Jimmy Kimmel Urges Super Bowl Prank
On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' last week, he asked NFL fans to prank their guests during the Super Bowl at parties around the country and then videotape the reactions. He got people to post their videos on YouTube and then his staff compiled the best ones into this segment.
Check out how upset some people got when their televisions were abruptly turned off at crucial moments in the game. Kimmel assures us that no one was killed during these pranks but it sure looks like a lot of upset fans had physical damage to the perpetrator on their minds.

STEFON DIGGS!!!
Yes, I realize this is a website geared towards Ravens fans, but I know there are Terps fantatics like myself who post on here. And, seeing as how the Ravens play in our great state of Maryland, I felt compelled to post this (sorry, Bruce). This is a monumental commitment for the Terrapins' football program...a FIVE star wide receiver, who will start from day one, should alter Maryland recruiting moving forward. Edsall has pulled off a grand slam here, and for a team that went 2-10 in his first season, coupled with the uncertainty surrounding Danny O'Brien, this is a fantastic start to the weekend. Go Terps!!
Watch Every 2011 Game On 'NFL Rewind'
The 2011-12 NFL season might not have gone exactly as planned for the Baltimore Ravens nor their rabid fan-base, but it still was one of their best ever, and certainly the best during the tenures of head coach John Harbaugh, QB Joe Flacco and RB Ray Rice. From the regular season opening 35-7 "beatdown" of the Pittsburgh Steelers on an emotionally charged September 11th, to the shocking 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots, Ravens fans rode a roller-coaster of emotions.
Now you can re-live it one game at a time or the entire season, including playoffs, at NFL Game Rewind. For a low fee, you can watch every game, not only of the Ravens, but the entire league, in HD. You can choose to watch the full game, the recap or just the highlights. In addition, you can listen to the radio broadcast of both the home and visiting teams to get a totally polar opposite perspective of the game.
Check it out and for those of you who just can't get enough football, especially during this void until the 2012 season begins in a little over seven months, this is a great deal and a ton of fun.
NFL's 'Sound FX' Football Follies
Although the season is over and most Baltimore Ravens fans are disappointed that our season ended just one game too early, there are some highlights of the season that should make any fan, even us Ravens fans, smile for awhile until the 2012 season gets underway when Training Camps open in a little over 160 days.
NFL's 'Sound FX' Football Follies is three minutes of football fun. It even has a play that most Ravens fans will remember as funny that made the follies from the 2011 season. Remember when rookie WR Torrey Smith was pulled down by his dreadlocks by the Cincinnati Bengals?
Enjoy this and also check out their other 'Sound FX' video, Having Fun With Refs.

Lardarius Webb: A Raven for Life?
Emerging star defensive back, Lardarius Webb, had his breakout season this year and people are taking notice. I guess notching 8 interceptions and not allowing a single touchdown on the year will do that. Webb, seemingly cementing himself as a new cornerstone of the Baltimore Ravens’ vaunted defense, took to Twitter to express his desire to be a Raven for life:
@LWebb21: Good Morning Twitter. Just in case anyone is wondering, I wanna be a Raven for life! #getdatring.
I think it’s safe to say most Ravens fans want Webb to be a Raven for life too. He was by far the best defensive back for the Ravens this season, as well as one of the best in the entire NFL. With this only being his 3rd season, it’s quite possible that Webb is just getting started.
Unfortunately, it’s not quite as simple as handing Webb a duffle bag full of cash and both sides walking away with big smiles on their faces. Teams have to negotiate through the new Collective Bargaining Agreement this off-season, and the Ravens have several key players who are looking for their big pay-days, such as: Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, and Ben Grubbs.
After the "Jump", see what Ravens General Manager, Ozzie Newsome, said about wanting to keep Webb in a Ravens uniform.
Who Is Dean Pees?
For Ravens fans the hits just kept on coming after the brutal AFC Championship game loss to the New England Patriots. Shortly after the team got back to business the news rocked the Castle that Chuck Pagano, first year defensive coordinator for the team, was hired as the new head coach for the hated rival Indianapolis Colts. Pagano had a great year with the Ravens as he brought back much of the ferocity in the defense that seemed to be lacking since Rex Ryan left for New York.
Ryan's replacement, Greg Mattison, was a bit more subdued in his play calling and focused more on coverage down field than finding creative ways to rush the passer. Not that there is anything wrong with that but the teams weakest link during his tenure was the secondary and the defense was built around the front seven and creating pressure. It just seemed that there was something lacking. Just off the top of my head, the three man rush was not a strength or ours... and it was used a bit too much under Greg Mattison's regime. After 2010 he left for the same job with Michigan and Pagano stepped in an brought the defense back to life. It was never said that the team was unhappy with him but I assume it was a mutual decision for him to leave.
Now Pagano is off to a new venture. He packed his family up on a Mayflower truck and headed off to Indy. Baltimore has since promoted linebackers coach Dean Pees into Pagano's old job. When it was announced that Pees would be taking over I had no idea who he was or where he came from but after doing some research I am pleasantly surprised to find out he has quite an impressive resume.
