Ravens' defensive end Brent Urban must be really excited to get on the field and make an impact after being injured during his rookie season in 2014. Sadly for Urban, that excitement got him in a bit of trouble with head coach John Harbaugh.
With OTAs being a pad and contact free event, Urban found himself a little too close to the quarterback on a play. As if that weren't enough to get the wrath of Harbaugh, Urban then celebrated the sure-fire sack, which irritated his boss.
He was a little too close, and then he was celebrating it. That’s what sent me over the edge. It’s like, ‘Do you not understand what we’re doing here?’
Urban had been running with the first team with the absence of veteran Chris Canty. That is, until Harbaugh sent him to the sidelines as punishment.
It was Brent’s second time, so he was sent to his room for a couple of plays. But we do like to keep our guys away from the quarterback – that’s good
while no one on the team wants to see a defensive end make contact with a starting quarterback right now, Urban's ability to get home in practice already is something that will benefit the ravens as the season starts off. With Canty missing time already during practice, Urban should get more than enough chances to show he is worthy of a starting nod or at least heavy use in the rotation on the defensive line.
