A day after Ravens coach John Harbaugh lauded Jah Reid as the team's third tackle, it was announced he's dealing with a head injury.
"Jah has a little head dinger," Harbaugh said following Tuesday's practice. "I don't know the extent of it or how long it'll be, but he hit his head yesterday, so he's [going through the] concussion protocol."
Before Reid can participate in a game, he must pass the NFL's mandatory testing for concussions. But based on the fact he was named the team's third tackle, it would be hard to believe that he would need this Saturday's game to make this roster. Left out on Baltimore Beatdown's projected 53-man roster last week, Reid will be moved on to this week's list based on this development.
Reid must have shown considerable improvement because he has yet to live up to his third-round billing form the 2011 draft. However, he is an athletic lineman that plays with a mean streak, and Gary Kubiak's scheme fits the kind of style Reid would prefer to play at.
Perhaps the offensive coordinator change is just what Reid needed to get his pro career back on track.
