The nominees:
Joe Flacco
Flacco had a career-worst year in 2013, throwing 19 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. If Flacco bounces back in 2014 he could be in the running for the award. However, his stats have never been on a high level and he would likely need to have more than his modest statistical output or lead the Ravens to an 11-plus win season.
Ray Rice
Rice was one of the best running backs in the NFL before 2013, making three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams, as well as racking up 4 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. If Rice returns to his former glory in 2014 he could be a candidate for Comeback Player of The Year. However, his chances could be hampered by what happened this offseason.
Dennis Pitta
Pitta was predicted to have a career year in 2013 before injuries knocked him out for 12 games. If Pitta bounces back as Flacco's favorite weapon he should be in the running for Comeback Player of the Year.
Marshal Yanda
Yes Yanda went to the Pro Bowl, was voted as an All-Pro, and made his debut in the Top 100 players at No. 55. But he and many others admitted that he was not the same player in 2013 due to injuries. If Yanda returns to his former glory now that he's healthy he could be eligible for this list.
