The precedent has clearly been set by the United States Patent office. If you are a group that has determined if you find a name of a sports team offensive then you can demand that the naming rights be revoked as is the case with the Washington Redskins. Please follow along as this is absolutely logical and has precedent within the United State Government. We are clearly south of the Mason-Dixon Line and as such I appeal to all of Southern bretheran citizens. Having suffered untold hardships; killings, discrimination, beatings, rapes, mistreatment in so many ways during and after the Civil War that we hereby claim aggrieved status as an offended group. As a direct result of all offenses thrust upon us for so many years we declare that the name YANKEE or YANKEES is absolutely offensive to us. Having the name thrust in front of us is on hats and shirts and on the baseball team is offensive and we hereby demand that the government revoke the rights to the name and logo. OK........ Open appeal to any Oriole Fan attorney that would like to take this case pro bono and raise their profile with Oriole fans to such a level as they will never hurt for work again, by the way, you may even gain national attention with this case. You may even take Daniel Snyder out of the spotlight for a moment. Let's yank the name right away from the pinstripers.......This may just have enough truth to work. I'll be honest, I really do find that Yankees name rather offensive.
