Ravens Mock Draft 4.17

Round 1- Pick 17: Taylor Lewan OT

This guy is falling down the draft boards due to off the field troubles, but this guy would solidify our rejuvenated oline. Rick Wagner can still develop and be used as a safety net if KO goes back down. But this guy is gritty, mean, and an absolute beast. If he falls to 17 I doubt that he will fall any further.

Round 2- Pick 48- Jimmie Ward S

Technically this guy is listed as a strong safety, but he definitely can fit our mold for FS. Darian Stewart isn't an ideal option. Plus this guy is rangy, with good speed, and amazing ball hawking ability; he pulled in 7 ints last year. He can tackle and would make a great tandem with Matt Elam. I much prefer him over Calvin Pryor due to his instinctual abilities, and more controlled tackling.

Round 3- Pick 79: Cody Latimer WR

This guy would be an amazing compliment to Torrey for the future number 2 spot. Truth be told Steve Smith will be here possibly 2 years. In those two years Latimer can learn and grow, as well as develop his route running skills. He has great strength, ideal size, and good hands. Not only that but he is probably one of the best blocking receivers in this draft. I would love this pick.

Round 3(comp)- Pick 99: Ego Ferguson DT

This guy is huge with amazing upside. He played in the fierce SEC. He has great strength and above average speed, and the flexibility to play any of the interior defensive line positions. He is very instinctual, and I really like his potential, especially with Ngata and Chris Canty heading towards the back end of their careers. Him and Brandon Williams could compete and develop together which would be a nice tandem.

Round 4(comp)- Pick 134: Terrence West RB

I know that this may be a little deep for West, but I don't think we should draft him any higher than the 4th round. He is amazingly powerful, downhill runner, but he is also a highly overworked collegiate athlete. Nonetheless you can't argue about the production he is capable of. With Ray Rice possible suspension, and no legitimate RB in free agency, I feel he would make a great addition to our running back corp

Round 4(Comp)- Pick 138: Victor Hampton CB

This guy is an athletic freak out of South Carolina, and I feel he can be a great number 3 corner, or at least push Chykie to be the corner he's capable of. He has great speed, and amazing physicality with above average instincts. He is also a good returner, which would be a great asset if something were to happen to Jacoby again. Nonetheless he is a great corner, with great upside if he can develop better technique to match with his athleticism.

Round 5(Comp)- Pick 175: Brent Urban DE

I think everyone is pretty crazed over this guy and for good reason. He is a hard worker, monster frame at 6-7 with good usage of his arms. He is a solid tackler with natural athletic ability. His large arms are his biggest asset by far and has the potential with strenuous training can be on scale with JJ Watt, yes I know its a long shot, but he has the potential, size, and possibly the right team if the Ravens can snag him.

Round 6- Pick 194: David Fales QB

So I think Fales gives us our solid number 2 behind Joe. He has great footwork, and fairly good mechanics. He struggles with the deep ball, but he is highly accurate, and capable of operating the game if Joe ever goes down and needs someone to close out the game. Overall I feel like he is an upgrade from Tyrod, and with the right molding and circumstances can me groomed to bring us a solid pick or two in the future.
