Mock Draft 3.0- Cornerback

Today the first pick is Cornerback...I like this draft alot! Let me know what you think!

1st Round (Pick 17): Kyle Fuller CB (Virginia Tech)

I’ve seen a couple things regarding the drafts top CBs, and they aren’t the best things. Some have said Dennard is cooling down on the draft boards and is not the clear number two CB in this draft class. Gilbert is concerning to me, and a big boom or bust prospect… he has the potential to either be a shut down corner or revert to his 2012 self (Not good). So I take Fuller, he has been compared to Webb and is a solid corner. I don’t know about you guys but I would be very happy with two Webbs and a Jimmy Smith at the corners.

2nd Round (Pick 48): Jimmie Ward FS (Northern Illinois)

One of my favorite prospects of this draft class is Jimmie Ward. Scouts have labeled HIM (not Clinton-Dix, not Pryor) as the best coverage safety in this draft class. What do the Ravens need? One word. HIM!

3rd Round (Pick 79): Cody Latimer WR (Indiana)

Latimer has been driving up big boards and for good reason. I saw one site where they had him ranked 171 overall… That can’t be right… So he is here third round a position of need and a solid receiver that can be a good two next to Torrey (if he re-signs) and Brown for the future.

3rd Round (Compensatory Pick 99): C.J. Fiedorowicz TE (Iowa)

Here is our TE! He has what the Ravens are looking for in a TE: SOLID blocking, and pretty good hands that can develop alongside the Pitta/Daniels duo. Kubiak has been known to use three tight end sets, so C.J. could be seeing the field rather quickly.

4th Round (Compensatory Pick 134): Terrance West RB (Towson)

Local Product out of Towson and the Ravens seem to love him. And this kid is something special. After Towson’s dreadful 2010 campaign, West walked onto the team and became an instant impact. He only was the school’s all-time leading rusher (4,854); set FCS single-season records in 2013 for rushing yards (2,509) and rushing touchdowns (41). This kid is something else.

4th Round (Compensatory Pick 138): Preston Brown ILB (Louisville)

I think Bullough should be gone by this pick but Brown is a solid pick up. An average ILB that can push Arthur Brown to be the 2nd round draft selection we hoped he would be.

5th Round (Compensatory Pick 175): Logan Thomas QB (Virginia Tech) OR Taylor Hart DE (Oregon)

Logan Thomas may come out of this draft as a huge surprise. With a rocket of an arm and his athleticism he reminds me of a sportier Flacco. Tyrod is sporty but does not have the arm like Thomas and that is why he doesn’t fit in the system. Thomas provides the arm to back up Flacco if ever something happened.

Taylor Hart is a solid DE from Oregon who’s a project and can be something special if taught correctly.

6th Round (Pick 194): Seantrel Henderson OT (Miami (Fla.))

Henderson is going to fall hard in this draft. He was once in the conversation as a round two talent. He compares to D.J. Fluker of last years draft but what is driving him down draft boards are his injury concerns and off-field issues that barely kept him on the field in Miami.
