John Harbaugh attends Final Four game in Michigan State hat, brother-in-law Tom Crean (jokingly) disapproves

Tom Crean wondered why his brother-in-law would sport a Michigan State hat considering he coaches Indiana. - USA TODAY Sports

Tom Crean fires a joke at John Harbaugh's way on twitter about his choice of attire.

One of these days John Harbaugh will make up his mind as to which Big Ten team to pull for.

His brother, Jim, was a star quarterback at Michigan, where his father also spent a lot of time as an assistant coach. But John and Jim Harbaugh's sister married Tom Crean, the basketball coach at Indiana, meaning they also pull for him too.

But on Sunday, John Harbaugh was spotted at the Michigan State-Connecticut game, watching both teams compete for a Final Four spot. This time, Harbaugh was spotted on camera wearing a Michigan State hat.

Of course, the Ravens coach went to Miami (Ohio) so he has no personal affiliation with any of these Big Ten schools. So it would seem he's free to choose to do whatever and root for any team he chooses.

Well, Crean (jokingly) put his brother-in-law on blast.

The most likely scenario is that Harbaugh and Michigan State coach Tom Izzo are friends, much like Crean was an assistant under Izzo before winding up at Indiana via Marquette.

And here's a follow-up tweet that suggests that conclusion:

But Crean had one other joke to get in at the expense of Harbaugh.

Unfortunately for Harbaugh, Michigan State lost to Connecticut 60-54.
