I'll just do one draft, since there's no trades.
Round 1 #17: HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama. We could use a FS and Dix looks like he could be a great FS in this league.
Round 2: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt. Great pick in round 2 for us. He compliments Steve Smith, Torrey Smith, Marlon Brown, and Dennis Pitta very well. We don't even have to rush him in. He can slowly work his way into snaps.
Round 3: C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa. This gives us a very tough TE who has good hands and is a good blocker.
Round 4 Comp #1: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State. Not my favorite C, but the best one available. He has to be an upgrade over Gino.
Round 4 Comp #2: Joe Joe Duncan, TE, Dixie State. This is probably the dumbest odd-ball pick I could've made, but I'm doing it. For one, I'm still so shocked at his combine results in the bench reps. Only 6 more people had more then him. 6!!! He outlifted nearly every DL and OL. I'm thinking this kid is worth the project. If nothing else, he could be a decent #3 TE.
Round 5 Comp #1: Ryan Carrethers, DT, Arkansas State. He replaces Terrence Cody on our DL. He would be our massive NT.
Round 5 Comp #2: Brent Urban, DL, Virginia. Yes, I'm still obsessed with Urban in the 5th. He just seems like a great value. He can play backup DL for now and possibly start later.
Round 6: Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma. This is a great stash pick and he could be well worth it if he recovers fine.
Possible UDFA targets: Cornelius Lucas, OT, Kansas State. James Stone, C, Tennessee. Marcus Williams, CB, North Dakota State. Beau Allen, DT, Wisconsin. James Morris, LB, Iowa. George Atkinson III, RB, Notre Dame. Marcus Lucas, WR, Missouri. NOTE: Some of these guys are borderline 6th/7th/undrafted. So their is no guarantee they even will be available as UDFA.
Okay that is it. I'm very sure I'll get some words about Joe Joe Duncan. I just don't think it would be a bad idea to get a #3 TE like him. Some even project him as an H-Back. So maybe it's another Kyle Juszczyk. If we had one extra 6th, I would grab Max Bullough, the LB, from Michigan State. And if he's available, I would want Daniel McCullers. That man is a monster- 6'7" 352 pounds. But he adds minimal value as a pass rusher.
Sorry Sorry. I forgot to point out one huge point. The one idea I've been toying with is this. I'm not as concerned about RT for multiple reasons. I believe Rick Wagner could play RT and if not, KO could play RT and Ryan Jensen play LG. I am thinking Wagner should be ready by now. I'm not faulting him for week 1 vs. Denver. That was his 1st NFL game ever where we were being dominated (forcing us to pass much more) and he was against a savvy and experienced Shaun Phillips. I can never be sure, but I believe Wagner might just be another late round Ozzie Newsome gem.
