As the 2013 NFL season reaches it proverbial twilight, the promising allure of the off-season continues to draw near. With this period of time comes an opportunity for the 31 teams who failed to hoist Vince Lombardi Trophy to rebuild and put themselves in position to go all the way next season. Simply said, it's the NFL's Christmas for fans and management who are giddy with anticipation of what spring and summer will bring for their team.
While the Baltimore Ravens don't have Santa Claus running the show, they have the next best thing: Ozzie Newsome. Known for his cunning ability to milk the off-season for everything it's worth, Newsome has gained a reputation around the league for being able to build a contender in a relatively short period of time. After following a magical Super Bowl run with a disappointing 8-8 season, the Ravens will need Newsome to prove his reputation yet again if they hope to even sniff the Super Bowl next year.
Unquestionably, the Ravens have quite a few problems to fix following their dud of a season. After trotting out one of the least effective offenses in franchise history and a defense which seemed to fall apart like a house of cards during clutch moments, it is clear the front office will have their work cut out for themselves.
