Finger prints of owner, Steve Bisciotti, and general manager Ozzie Newsome all over possible Kubiak hiring. Harbaugh was non-factor.— Mike Preston (@MikePrestonSun) January 27, 2014
The last tweet from Baltimore Sun columnist Mike Preston is telling, considering that Jim Hostler was leading the way for the job it seemed. That would insinuate that Harbaugh wanted Hostler and that Ozzie Newsome and Steve Bisciotti were thinking otherwise.
In addition, Kyle Shanahan will not join the Ravens and be a part of their offensive staff.
Kyle Shanahan won't be joining the Ravens' staff, according to a league source— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) January 27, 2014
It would seem that the Ravens could wind up with an offensive coaching staff reminiscent of what the Houston Texans have had the last few years. And given the success the Texans had on that side of the ball prior to 2013, especially in the running game, I think Ravens fans will be just fine with that — if not ecstatic.
