Williams had a standout preseason game against Tampa Bay, recording two catches for 32 yards and a touchdown. However, he only caught one pass for 11 yards over the next three games.
He was considered a special teams asset, though may have been expendable with the Ravens deciding to keep on safeties Anthony Levine and Brynden Trawick on the 53-man roster. Those two figure to primarily be special teams contributors.
Williams wasn't going to crack the depth chart at receiver, considering the kind of preseasons Marlon Brown and Aaron Mellette had. Williams was waived-injured by the Ravens, indicating an injury settlement was met between the two parties. Williams injured his hamstring in the final preseason game against St. Louis.
Williams didn't log any receptions at receiver in 2012 but caught four passes for 46 yards in 2011. He caught a pass on the 92-yard game winning drive against Pittsburgh at Heinz Field.
