Before Vonta Leach was brought back to Baltimore, rookie fullback Kyle Juszczyk received some strong criticism for his lead blocking abilities.
Now that Juszczyk can focus more on being an H-back, or even split out like a tight end, he doesn't have too many lead blocking duties anymore. But one area he appears to be improving is in pass blocking, an area any fullback needs to have a strong understanding of.
In a somewhat related area, Juszczyk might also be the personal protector for Sam Koch during punts, given coach John Harbaugh praised the rookie for his improvements in both pass and punt protection.
"He's done a great job, obviously, with the various positions we've asked him to play," Harbaugh told reporters Sunday. "He made a couple of catches. He understands pass protection, and he understands punt protection. So, both of those are going to be very important for him. He's a smart guy, and he picks up football really quickly."
