Although Josh Bynes had a less than stellar performance against Atlanta last Thursday, according to Matt Zenitz of the Carroll County Times John Harbaugh is sticking with Bynes at the WILL linebacker position."He's physical. He understands our defense inside and out. He’s done a heck of a job" Harbaugh stated in reference to Bynes.
There was some speculation, even by myself, that after Arthur Brown had a strong showing and Bynes didn't in the preseason game with Atlanta, that soon the rookie would be moving up on the depth chart. Harbaugh set the record straight by letting it be known that Bynes was his guy and that nothing would be changing.
With the draft selection of Elam in the first round and with moving up to get Brown in the second, many thought they would be starting sooner rather than later. But Brown had sport hernia surgery in the offseason and Elam never really stood it in OTA'S and practice yet both showed well against the Falcons, bringing on the speculation.
Many believe it won't be long before Brown will break the starting line up but it appears that Bynes knowledge of the defense and his experience is still giving him the edge
