My projected play at positions in 2013 vs. 2012 (Defense and Special Teams)

Comparing projected impact on defense. I'm going out of a 3-4 here. If you want see a 4-3, just move Doom and Suggs to end. Then Canty and Ngata would be starting at DT. The Linebackers would probably be Daryl Smith (OLB), Josh Bynes/Arthur Brown (MLB), and Courtney Upshaw (OLB)

DE- 2012 starter: Arthur Jones. Projected 2013 starter: Arthur Jones (Marcus Spears getting reps too). Comparing projected impact. The production will get better. The Ravens will be better at this position just because we have Art Jones, a designated run stopper (Marcus Spears), and a very good rusher (Pernell McPhee).

NT- 2012 starter: Ma'ake Kemoeatu. Projected 2013 starter: Haloti Ngata. Comparing projected impact. The play will rise from the worst to one of the best. This is easy. Kemoeatu and Cody were terrible. Ngata will be MUCH better. Huge increase in impact and production from here.

DT- 2012 starter: Haloti Ngata. Projected 2013 starter: Chris Canty. Comparing projected impact. The production will be worse. Again, obvious. Going from Ngata to basically any other linemen in the league is a decrease. We still should be good at this position, just not as good.

Rush LB- 2012 starter Paul Kruger/Terrell Suggs. Projected 2013 starter: Terrell Suggs. Comparing projected impact. The production will increase. This also is easy. A full season of healthy Suggs is better than half a season of a hurt Suggs.

Will LB- 2012 starter: Jameel McClain. Projected 2013 starter: Josh Bynes. Comparing projected impact. The production will go down a bit. McClain has always been solid and he might be a bit better than Bynes. I hope Bynes breaks out, but this is my prediction for now. Jameel might start if he was healthy.

Mike LB- 2012 starter: Ray Lewis/Dannell Ellerbe. Projected 2013 starter: Daryl Smith. Comparing projected impact. The production will be better. No matter what, if Daryl Smith is healthy, he is better than a 37 year old Lewis and Ellerbe. Daryl Smith has been underrated for the longest time, and I new it. I watched him in Jacksonville. He always has been very good. Great signing for a great price and he should be great for us.

Sam LB- 2012 starter: Courtney Upshaw/Albert McClellan. Projected 2013 starters: Courtney Upshaw/Elvis Dumervil. Comparing projected impact. The production will increase. This is obvious we have a good edge setter in Upshaw and a great pass rusher in Dumervil.

CB1-2012 starter: Lardarius Webb/Cary WIlliams. Projected 2013 starter: Lardarius Webb. Comparing projected impact. The production will increase. This also is easy. A full season of Lardarius is better than 1/2 of one with him and Cary Williams.

CB2- 2012 starter: Cary Williams/Corey Graham. Projected 2013 starter: Corey Graham. Comparing projected impact. The production will increase. If Corey Graham keeps up his playoff level, he's better than Cary Williams.

CB3- 2012 starter: Corey Graham/Chykie Brown. Projected 2013 starter: Chykie Brown. Comparing projected imapct. The production will increase. I only think it will increase because all signs are pointing towards Chykie Brown having an amazing camp. I'm hoping in the near future, our lineup will be Jimmy and Chykie outside, with Webb in the slot. I'm hoping Jimmy can eventually break out. Either way, Chykie might start this year and signs point towards him doing good.

FS- 2012 starter: Ed Reed. Projected 2013 starter: Michael Huff. Comparing projected impact. The production will stay around the same. I believe it will stay around the same, because their strengths offset each others. Ed Reed is a veteran ball hawk, but has getting worse every year. He still has something. Michael Huff has always been a solid, but not great FS (when Oakland isn't playing him at CB) who is good at everything but not great at anything. Ed has leadership, but we have other leaders on our team.

SS- 2012 starter: Bernard Pollard. Projected 2013 starter: Matt Elam (maybe James Ihedigbo?). Comparing projected impact. The impact will be greater, but the production will be around the same or worst. I think Bernard Pollard is a pretty good player. I think the production will be around the same or worse because I don't think Elam will get Pollard's tackle total, but he can get more interceptions and less unnecessary roughness penalties. I think the impact will be greater because they would rather throw at Pollard them Elam and Elam isn't a locker room distraction.

P- 2012 starter: Sam Koch. Projected 2013 starter: Sam Koch. Comparing projected impact. It will be around the same. He has always been pretty accurate and never had the biggest leg. There is no reason to think that won't happen again this year.

K- 2012 starter: Justin Tucker. Projected 2013 starter: Justin Tucker. Comparing projected impact. The production will get a bit worse. I say this because it is almost impossible to follow up a season like that. It was amazing.

Returner- 2012 starter: Jacoby Jones. Projected 2013 starter: Jacoby Jones. Comparing projected impact. It will be around the same. There is just no reason to prove the production will get better or worse.
