After clicking to the link and reading this article, Baltimore Ravens fans will give out just another collective groan on the typical disrespect still given to Super Bowl MVP QB Joe Flacco. The latest is NFL.com's Marc Sessler's 'Around The League' story, 'Ranking The NFL Quarterbacks,' where he groups them into specific categories.
His first category is titled, Three Kings,' and includes Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. While it's tough to argue this group, I'm no longer sold on Manning at this point in his career and think that Drew Brees deserves to be in this grouping.
Brees is part of the next grouping, 'Franchise Gold,' which does also include Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan and Eli Manning, but surprisingly missing is Mr. Flacco. Any category that Matty Ice is in should definitely include Flacco, especially with the results (or lack of in Ryan's career) of their playoff success.
You have to scroll down two more categories, past 'The Future (parts 1 & 2)' to what appears to be what I see as the average category, aptly labeled 'Solid Dudes,' in order to find where he places the Ravens QB. Joe gewts clumped together with perennial losers Tony Romo, Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler.
Sessler begs Ravens fans to hear him out on his placement in this group:
Citizens of Baltimore: Hear me out. Admittedly, Flacco's place on this list haunts me. His work in the playoffs was otherworldly. I might eat raven on this one, but I can't wait to see where Flacco goes in 2013.
Read it and weep, Ravens fans, and let the spewing of hatred and admonishment begin!
