Orioles' Manager Speaks Out

USA TODAY Sports

O's manager Buck Showalter responds to Rex Ryan's comments regarding Ravens' season opener

In a continuation of the season opener drama, Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter fired back at Ryan's comment that the Orioles should have changed their game vs. the White Sox on September 5th so that the Ravens could open their 2013 season at home. Showalter had this to say in response:

Doesn't he have a draft coming up? I try to stay out of things I don't know about. I would stay in what is my area of supposed expertise. I'd be a little more concerned about November 24 when the Jets come here and try to figure out a way to beat the Ravens. I'd think that would be a little more of a challenge.

Regarding that Nov. 24 game, Showalter told the media:

I'll be there. I hope he's there.
