Ed Reed To Visit The Texans

USA TODAY Sports

According to a recent report by the Baltimore Sun, Ed Reed is due to visit the Houston Texans Thursday. This comes after the Baltimore Ravens have already lost a myriad of key free-agents such as Paul Kruger, Dannell Ellerbe, and Bernard Pollard. As a Ravens fan I can only hope that this is a parallel to the Ray Lewis free-agent situation when he visited Dallas just to see what he was worth before re-signing with the Ravens.

However I am going to play the role of purple-blasphemer and say that the Baltimore Ravens would NOT be decimated without Ed Reed. In fact, I think Ed's been playing past his prime for a few years now and the Ravens would be a bit better off with a younger safety. It seemed as if Ed was always getting hurt over the last two years and seemed a bit timid when tackling recently. While it would suck to lose Reed I do not think it would be the end of the world. On that note, however, I hope he re-signs so he can retire as a Raven.
