Ravens Parade A Smash Hit In Baltimore

Maxwell Kruger-USA TODAY Sports

The Ravens painted the city of Baltimore purple today with their Super Bowl parade.

Baltimore City was literally a sea of purple today as the Baltimore Ravens held their Super Bowl Champions parade. Hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the state of Maryland and beyond descended on the city causing a mess of traffic that actually delayed the start of the parade because the players were stuck in gridlock.

As the coaches and players lined up at City Hall to address the crowd you could feel the emotion in the air as all the Ravens fans waited through hours of traffic and freezing temperatures just to catch a glimpse of their heroes. Ed Reed belted out a verse from Eddie Money's "Two Tickets To Paradise" for the crowd and although he was off key and hard to listen to, so many fans had tears in their eyes as he sang.

It was a crazy scene, one that I have never seen before. Girls were crying and screaming like they were at their first Beetles concert.

So many fans with so much love in their hearts moved through the crowded streets high five-ing each other as they passed. Today was a truly unbelievable day to be a Ravens fan. The City of Baltimore literally stood still as their team strutted the streets with their retiring leader Ray Lewis holing onto the Lombardi Trophy with a death grip.

What a day, what a week, what a season. We are all truly blessed to have been a part of it.
